Portable tire changer

This is a good piece of equipment. I used it to change the tires on my 3/4-ton pickup and had no problems. You’ll want to bolt it to the floor or to a sturdy pallet, etc. You also might want some extra spoons and prybars to work with.

Also, this tool is the same as what Harbor Freight used to sell, which is now discontinued, if that is what you are looking for.

Ecinomical Tire solution

These tire changers are the best way to go 2 sets of tires and you have recovered the cost of the unit. Combine this with a product like Dyna Beads that self balances the tire and you will never have to worry about it again. each tire takes me less then 20 min to finish. It is recomended to attach it to the concrete floor. I have mine mounted to a pallet which I use my tractor to hold in place as I use the changer. if you wedge large blocks of wood between the pallet slats where the unit bolts in place it will keep it nicely attached with 2+” lagbolts.

3 tips 1. use 1/2 dawn & water to make seating the rim and installing the tire much easier.

2. use a ratchet tiedown hook to hold 1 side of the tire in place as you install it.

3. Make sure to push the tire edge down the rim to where it has a smaller diameter so that it is easier to get the tire in place

Where I am at most places charge 45$ for balancing & or mounting. The shops have made grumblings about wanting to charge 120 to mount tires if not purchaced from them. After hearing that I have change all my tires my self.

Cheap useful tire changer

Works great for the money. Bead breaker is flawless. To remove tires just use a little dish soap and water so that the spoon glides around the rim/tire without getting stuck or scratching the rim.

Just don’t forget to bolt it to the floor or in my case a wooden pallet.
